A Case of Korean Hemorrhagic Fever

Abstract
Korean hemorrhagic fever (KHF) is an acute infectious disease which are characterized by fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, severe hemorrhagic manifestation, proteinuria, renal failure and cardiovascular instabilities, such as shock syndrome. Epidemic hemorrhagic fever was recognized for the first time in Korea in 1951 and has since been known as KHF. Recently the etiological agent of KHF and natural reservoir and diagnostic method by serologic test were estabilished by Lee successfully." The outbreak of patients had been localized in the vicinity of the DMZ until 1970, but since 1971 the disease has invaded the all southern areas of the Korean peninsula. We have experienced a case of KHF in 6 year 8 months ¢¥old boy who was admitted bacause of hematuria, "facial edema, nausea and vomitting, headache, also made brief review of the related literature.
